Matt Long has assisted in the evaluation of residential and commercial structures for damage resulting from fire, hurricane, hail, and wind. To supplement his coursework in Architectural Engineering, he worked as an intern evaluating building envelope systems for quality of installation, performed water leakage investigations, and evaluated structural elements for deterioration. He has also performed excavation and earthwork, concrete placement, and demolition of existing construction.

Prior to pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering, Mr. Long served four and a half years in the United States Air Force as a Paramedic and Unit Deployment Manager. He was the recipient of Airman of the Quarter four times during his service. His experience in the Air Force afforded him the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and efficiency. This has provided a seamless transition into the challenging and rewarding work of Nelson Forensics.
