Mr. Barker has performed evaluations at a wide variety of commercial and residential structures in order to analyze distress to their structural framing (e.g., framing and foundation systems), exterior envelopes (e.g., cladding and fenestrations), and/or roofing systems over the course of more than 250 projects.

Mr. Barker currently specializes in providing diagnostic analyses to property owners, insurance carriers, and law firms regarding structures that have been affected by defects (related to design, construction, and/or manufacturing deficiencies) and/or perils such as hail, wind, impact, water intrusion, and more.

Prior to his time at Nelson, he attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in May 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering. He was presented the Werner E. Dornberger Academic Excellence Award in 2021 for graduating at the top of the Architectural Engineering class.
